Nominator's project description

Professor Li is recognized internationally for her leading role in the field of metal organic frameworks (MOFs) and for her innovative research in the development of novel inorganic-organic hybrid semiconductors for clean energy related applications. Her pioneer contributions include utilizing microporous MOFs for the detection of high explosive vapors and designing a new family of semiconductor nanostructures exhibiting unprecedented structure-induced quantum confinement effect (QCE). In Germany, she will focus on the investigation of MOF based thin films and membranes for enhanced small gas separations.
